Sorghum - Land Selection

Sorghum is adapted to a range of soil types. Sandy loam soils with good drainage and humus content are the best. The crop is sensitive to soil acidity and aluminium toxicity. Avoid planting on soils below 4.5 pH. Soils with inherent capping problems should also be avoided.
