Soyabean - Weed Control

A good approach to weed control in soybean is usually to combine cultural practices with mechanical and chemical weed control measures. Cultural practices that promote good soybeans growth and help soybeans compete with weeds include row spacing not wider than 60 cm, appropriate planting date, good seed rate, optimum plant population in rows, use of high quality seed of adapted varieties and crop rotation.

Mechanical weeding is done using row cultivating practice. The primary purpose is to control weeds between rows. Pre-plant, pre-emergence or post emergence herbicides may also be used to control weeds. Where broad leaf weeds are not a problem, a grass killer Dual/Lasso may be used alone. A tank mixture of a grass killer and broad leaf weed killer such as Dual + Sencor will effectively control the weeds. Application recommendations from the manu
