Finger Millet ( Field Inspection )

Frequent field inspections are important to ensure that good quality seed is produced. These inspections should begin before planting and continue until seed is finally packed, sealed and labelled into the prescribed bags. The effectiveness of inspections can be ascertained only through the grow out tests.

Before planting of seed crop, the seed inspector should verify prescribed crop rotation and isolation from adjacent crops/fields. He should also verify whether the grower has been supplied with the seed of right variety and a correct class of seed (pre-basic or certified seed). Land preparation require
